“Beliefs, Body Language, Your Super Consciousness and The Neuro-Linguistic Patterns of David Icke”

Share

Aren’t belief systems fascinating?! If you really listen to people you can discover some amazing things about the way their mind and perception of the Universe works.

The utterances or surface structure sentences we speak are in fact a literal description of our internal representations: What pictures and sounds we are creating in our mind. These Neuro-Linguistic Maps are what generate our subjective experience of reality.

So by listening to others carefully we can learn a lot about their unique ‘models of the world.’

Video interviews are a wonderful way to study Neuro-Linguistic patterns because you can reply the video. You’ll be amazed how much information is packed into just one minute of footage!

(Watch from 4:16 minutes to 5:09)

Note: David Icke uses the term ‘Mind’ which I believe is the same as Ego-Mind which can only attend to 40 Bits of Information per second. And ‘CONSCIOUSNESS‘ which I think you could call The Super Consciousness or Your Higher Self which can attend to about 40 Million Bits of Information per second!

Icke expresses a metaphor explaining our experience of birth and death as like, “going from the source to the sea.”

He says our Mind (Ego-Mind) can only see the next turn on the river. This is the part of the mind that analyses everything and often gets caught up in fear: The Left Brain.

Notice how he clearly points out a specific location in his aura (where our beliefs and memories are stored or anchored), as he says, “What is a terrible thing happening to Mind (Ego-Mind) here…”

“Is in fact an essential experience, to CONSCIOUSNESS, leading to great things up here.” (Pointing up his Timeline into the future)

“Although I experienced all the ridicule without realising why, I just knew (his higher self?) there was a reason for it but I didn’t know why.”

This is a really powerful belief at the logical level of ‘Spiritual Belief’ because it enables a person to re-frame or view painful experiences in such a way as to feel empowered by them instead of feeling victimised.

Icke is saying when he experienced huge amounts of ridicule in the 90′s he was able to go through the experience because he knew on some level (his intuition linked into his higher self?) that there was a very good reason for it somewhere down the line.

“Now I look back and I see why.”

So his higher self or parental guardian spirit could see the big picture and helped him through the bullshit at the unconscious level and then some years in the future he (his Ego-Mind) become aware of why it had been necessary.

By the way you can use NLP Timeline Techniques to view aspects of your life, you have found painful or confusing, from a big picture perspective which can then enable you to view them in a more resourceful way.

Hierarchy of Criteria

We value certain things over others. Most people value their LOVING relationship more than say a FRIENDSHIP.

A person may value HEALTH more than FREEDOM.

Some people value WEALTH over FUN.

So we have a hierarchy of values or criteria and these function unconsciously and have a powerful influence on our behaviour.

There is an interesting part of the interview with David, 6 minutes in, where he demonstrates how he is able to be so confident and outspoken with his views.

“My criteria for what I communicate is, ‘do I think it’s true?’”

“Have I passed that line where I know this is true?”

“There’s no, ‘O what will people think of me.’”

“Because of that (Notice his hand gestures showing where something ‘crosses the line’ and becomes true to him,) I don’t care.”

So when he knows something to be TRUE he doesn’t CARE what other people think of him.

Expressing what he believes to be the TRUTH is high up on his list of criteria and this drives his behaviour.

You can discover some amazing insights into how people’s minds work by listening and watching closely. And you can become aware of how your own beliefs and thoughts are located in space and what affect this has on you.

So if you were to begin thinking about this now, how could you use this information?

An idea that came to mind to me from watching the interview was to think about a new project or decision you need to make and then move that image into the location of where you represent your higher self. This can help you access different parts of the mind and gain creative insight.

Creative Thinking Exercises That Will Pull You Out of a Creativity Quagmire Quickly!

Share

What are creative thinking exercises anyway? It has been said that all we are ever really doing is pulling things apart or putting things back together. You could say, ‘there are no new ideas under the sun.’ However there are an infinite number of ways we can combine ideas together into interesting new combinations or ‘recipes.’ creative-thinking-exercises

When you are ‘stuck in a rut’ or creatively blocked your mind is locked into just one limited perspective. Some people want to know about critical thinking exercises but if you’re anything like me you’re probably more into creative thinking techniques. Discovering new angles on the project you are working on enables you to gain creative insight.

We all have internal mental strategies such as Decision, Motivation and of course Creative strategies. This usually functions outside of our awareness, but we can identify the step by step unconscious process and then trigger it when ever we want!

One day I was sat in a coffee shop, with pen & pad and laptop, hoping to write an article. I struggled for a while and nothing was really transpiring. So I thought, “Hmmmm, what is it like when I feel really inspired?”

I then remembered a time I was crossing a desert, right out in the middle of nowhere. There was nothing apart from a road, sand and a few shrubs for hundreds of miles. In the evening I stopped the Jeep, turned the lights off and stepped out…

Have you ever been to a Planetarium? Well this was like the best Planetarium in the world! There was no light pollution whatsoever. You could see stars right to the very horizon in every direction. The more you looked up at the stars, the more appeared. The Milky Way was crystal clear. It was truly wondrous! It felt like being connected into the vast, vast Universe.

So what I did next was I took inventory of how I created that state of awe and wonder in my mind. I noticed the image in my mind was true to life size, 360 degrees around me and clear. I also noticed my internal dialogue saying, “Wow, this is amazing!” and then noticed the feelings in my body.

What I did next was think about my writing project; Noticed the visual, auditory and kinaesthetic aspects to it and then mapped then across into the ‘Wow’ experience. I actually saw sheets of paper 360 degrees around me and in the milky way with writing appearing on them while my self talk was saying, “Wow, that’s amazing!”

As soon as I did this shift in perspective my feelings shifted into feeling good and inspired. Literally within moments of doing that creative thinking exercise I was able to write in a way that was flowing and inspired.

So what I did was become aware of one of my ‘creative thinking recipes.’ Why not do some creative thinking activities and discover one of your recipes or give mine a go and see what results you get?

Mind Power Techniques, Tips and Resources

Share
mind-power-techniques

flickr.com/photos/jonycunha/

There are many ‘Mind Power Techniques‘ and even ‘Subconscious Mind Power Techniques‘ resources on the internet, but of course some are better than others. Over the years I’ve book-marked many websites. The following list of seven I have chosen because I believe them to consist of good quality content and are of practical use.

Andrew T. Austin (Trainer & Author)

andrew-t-austinAndy has been helping people improve their lives for many years now. His website is full of really useful information about effective approaches to change work and in his extensive writing you will find some really clear explanations of Neurology. A good start is the article explaining the difference between the two brain hemispheres.

Online Meta Model Flash Cards

This is a fantastic resource! As you may know the Meta Model was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder the co-creators of the field of NLP. It’s a way of understanding language with precision. You get access to 308 NLP Meta Model and Milton Model Flash Cards.

NLP Practitioner Certification Training Videos

steve-g-jonesHere you will find several videos with New York Hypnotist/NLP Master Trainer – Steve G. Jones demonstrating practical NLP tools, techniques and methods you can use for personal growth step by step. He covers different aspects of NLP within the level of Practitioner Certification. For example, in Video 5 (scroll down the page) he explains Anchors and Anchoring Techniques and how you can use these to empower yourself and influence others in an ethical way.

White Noise Generator

Do you ever find it difficult to concentrate while working due to external noise from traffic, machines, jets, sirens, children, loud music etc? White Noise is used to mask external noise and you get the best results by using headphones. It really works. I find it very useful and it helps me be more productive as the distractions fade into the background and the white noise begins to sound like a waterfall. Give it a go, it will increase your mind powers!

Bringing Light Into The Darkness: The Principle of Positive Intention
- Robert Dilts (Trainer & Author) robert-dilts

This is one of my favourite ‘self help’ articles by NLP Master Robert Dilts. I believe it is the clearest explanation you will find about the usefulness of ‘Positive Intention.’ This is a very beneficial principle that is often misunderstood. Robert explains it all clearly and I think it’s an essential key for dealing with the ‘evil’ in the world these days.

Shamanism – Working With Animal Spirits

shamanism-animalsThis is a great website I use regularly. It gives the Shamanic explanation for over 300 animals. Have you ever had the experience where you keep seeing the same animal repeatedly? Or perhaps you have a dream where you vividly see a certain creature.
Maybe it’s a sign? Look it up on this website and discover some useful insights.

“Shamanism, the world’s oldest healing tradition, is found in all cultures on Earth. Shamans work with their allies -the animal spirits. Learn the wisdom of over three hundred of these spiritual teachers.”

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Resources

emotional-freedom-techniquesThis site has some very useful content regarding the practical use of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). Manuals, articles, discussion groups and there are several videos demonstrating how to use EFT to resolve issues, including serious Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Steve Andreas (Trainer & Author)

steve-andreasSteve Andreas has been involved with NLP pretty much from the beginning. Himself and his wife, Connirae, helped develop many of the breakthroughs that were made into rapid personal change through ‘modelling excellence.’ He has authored several excellent books and on this website you can read his articles, which are amongst the best you will find, about personal growth with NLP.

And One More!

Stress Fish – Helping People Defeat Stress

stress-fishThis is a cool little site. You can press the ‘Random De-Stress’ Tip button for a simple and practical Stress Relief Exercise. There are plenty of articles and some interesting little videos too.

How to Shapeshift: Shape-Shifting Skills for Fun & Freedom

Share

Everyone wants more freedom. Can you imagine if you knew how to shapeshift and became a Shamanic Shapeshifter! Don’t you think that would empower you? As you know real freedom comes from within. And learning to shift our mind or change our perspective on things, with volition, is the key.

Our sense of the ‘external reality’ around us is strongly influenced by our internal ‘maps’ of reality. From time to time we have certain thoughts that restrict our sense of freedom. These thoughts are sometimes beliefs that were formed earlier in our life and are now out of date!

Have you ever seen one of those optical illusion drawings? You know the ones where there is a picture and at first glance you can just see one face. But as you continue looking and change your focus ever so slightly you get a surprise when another image in the picture appears!

how to shapeshift

flickr.com/photos/turatti/

New perspectives can be very powerful and you don’t necessarily need to view things from a radically different perspective. Just a small shift can bring about a profound change.

If you were to recall a recent situation where you would have preferred to act in a more resourceful manner, could you imagine reviewing the situation from a different angle?

How about looking at it as if it were a movie, with you in it?

Shamanic Shape-Shifting

Now you can start to use your mind to get some really interesting perspectives on things by shapeshifting into an animals point of view:

What new information would arise if you viewed it from the perspective of a giant eagle?

A field mouse?

A powerful puma?

Or how about the viewpoint of a fly with it’s one hundred eye vision?!

shapeshifting

flickr.com/photos/opoterser/

Of course you need to actually experience these ‘shapeshifting spells‘ so give them a go because this kind of visualisation can unleash your creative mind and allow you to make new realisations as your unconscious reveals previously hidden information.

And the more you use your mind, the more you build faith in your own ability. And when that faith builds you find yourself able to make the changes you desire more easily, your self-esteem begins to build and you will inspire others with your new sense of freedom!

How To Stop A Bad Habit Automatically Using A ‘Jedi Mind Trick’

Share

Wouldn’t you like to know how to stop a bad habit? Have you ever heard the phrase, “you get more of what you focus on?” I’m sure you have because it’s a popular phrase that is an accurate description of how the mind works. For example if I were to ask you to remember a favourite holiday experience and as you recall it now I could get you to focus on more and more aspects by asking what specifically did you see, hear, smell, taste and feel in the experience.

how-to-stop-a-bad-habit

flickr.com/photos/torley/

So what happens is that the mind focus’s on something and goes in that direction; rather like a guided missile. Of course not being perfect enlightened beings just yet our minds acquire unwanted habits.

How to Stop Bad Habits

You can use proven techniques such as NLP’s ‘Swish Pattern’ to re-direct your brain away from the unwanted focus, towards a new direction.

The ‘Swish Pattern’ was discovered by using Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to model what people do inside their mind. So the fact is you actually do “Swish’s” already! The Swish Pattern Technique will give you the know-how to break habits in a powerful, ecological way.

This ‘away from X, towards Y’ principle creates a very useful motivational strategy known as a propulsion system. The Swish Pattern makes full use of this principle to generate quick and effective results.

One of the great things about this approach is that it encourages generative change. Remedial change is where you fix problem X, such as a phobia of dogs, and that is that.

Generative change on the other hand generalises. Because the Swish Pattern utilises Self-Image as part of the technique you can look forward to greater self-esteem in other areas of your life.

To clarify what I mean imagine you used ‘the swish’ to resolve the bad habit of feeling low self-esteem when asserting yourself with your partner. Because of the generative aspect of the technique you would probably be pleased to discover feelings of greater self-esteem in other areas of your life too, such as when communicating with a challenging work colleague.

You know, your mind learns quickly! The Swish Pattern makes use of the Half Second Rule principle which allows your mind to be reprogrammed in such a way as to make the change stick and become automatic! Just imagine that, no need to keep consciously remembering to focus on the new direction. Once you’ve done the Swish Pattern you will have re-wired your brain and the new habit will be on auto-pilot!

What Is Self Image and How Can You Improve Self Image?

Share

What is Self Image? It’s simply the way you see yourself in your ‘minds eye’ and the feelings that arise from it. Because your self-image is right at the core of your identity or self concept it influences your feelings and behaviour across contexts.

what-is-self-image

flickr.com/photos/ox4photos/

However one of the interesting things you can discover for yourself is that your self-image will change depending on the specific context or situation you are thinking about.

Have you ever heard a phrase such as, “I just can’t see myself doing that.” What do you think their self-image looks like?

What’s something you enjoy or are good at? As you think about it now, re-experience it as if you were there. And then step out of the image, push it over there on the wall and look at that you enjoying yourself. Notice your feelings. This self-image makes you feel quite esteemed right?

Self Image Quotes

“The ‘self-image’ is the key to human personality and human behavior. Change the self-image and you change the personality and the behavior.” – Maxwell Maltz

“The person we believe ourselves to be will always act in a manner consistent with our self-image.” – Brian Tracy

“A strong, positive self-image is the best possible preparation for success in life.” – Dr. Joyce Brothers

Internal Representations

We create ‘mental maps’ or internal representations, in our mind, of our subjective experience of reality. In other words we create models / maps of our world with our inner images, sounds, words and feelings.

Because our mind operates so fast these images and sounds usually wizz past our conscious awareness: Sub-Conscious.

However they have a very powerful influence on our daily experience. The fact is your entire belief systems are derived from your ‘mental maps’!

Picture for a moment someone you really admire. A person with a healthy level of confidence.

You get a good feeling right?

So I’m curious, how do you know when to have that feeling?

Think of that person again and simply point to where you see them in your field of vision. Do you see them to the left, straight in front or to the right?

Notice how close the image of them is to you.

What happens when you think about someone you don’t like very much, I don’t know maybe a politician?

Isn’t it interesting how they are in different locations in space!

If you were to now notice these two images simultaneously, you could become aware of other differences between them: Maybe one is smaller than the other. One is full colour, the other black & white. One’s 3D, the other 2D.

This is the way your mind actually ‘codes’ your ‘maps.’ “Hmmmm, not sure about him,” verses “O’yeah I like that person.” These ‘codings’ are the difference that makes the difference.

If you were to picture someone you really admire, where do you represent them. Notice the qualities of the image.

And if you were to notice your own self-image right now, where is it located in space. Now become aware of the characteristics in comparison to the image of the person you admire.

Is one image closer, bigger, more colourful?

By the way this comparison or ‘contrast analysis’ is one of the master keys to becoming mindful of your unconscious process’ and for creating rapid personal change.

So would you be at all interested in how you could boost your self-esteem and improve self-image almost instantaneously?

It’s so easy, you’ll probably laugh!

Go ahead now, take your Self Image and move it over into the location of where you see the ‘admired person’ and morph it into the same qualities such as size, brightness, closeness and so on.

As you look at this enhanced self-image become aware of your increased feelings of self-esteem.

That’s it! You could call this ‘Rapid Self Image Psychology.’ No need for tedious introspection and self-image profiles.

Take note that often times you only need to move the image into the new location and all the other characteristics change automatically. That’s another Master Key for re-programming your mind quickly and easily. There are more of course and you will discover them as you continue to read about awesome mind secrets…

Remember at the beginning of this article I mentioned how the appearance of your self-image changes according to the specific context you are thinking about.

So what I suggest you do is think of a few upcoming situations, like work, socialising, family and then become aware of your internal self-image and then shift it over into the ‘enhanced self esteem’ location.

If you were to do this once or more a day your sub-conscious mind would quickly begin to get the message and you would begin to notice a growing sense of esteem for yourself rather quickly…

So why not go ahead and do the drill now. You can do it in less than three minutes!

What Is Creative Thinking and Creative Problem Solving?

Share

You know the human mind, your mind, is truly awesome. Everything we see around us, incredible architecture, paintings, wondrous machines and the amazing musical masterpieces of the ages all started in someone’s imagination!

So what is creative thinking?

It’s the ability to re-arrange, re-formulate, re-pattern, mix, merge and construct already known and new ‘thought forms’ in different combinations.

We all possess this creative mechanism.

what-is-creative-thinking

flickr.com/photos/ttdesign/

Sometimes though we become, “stuck in a rut” or start to, “see blank”, or we “hit a brick wall.” These are common phrases used by people that are in ‘stuck states.’ Their mind is unwilling to go else where.

Just what is this state of mind and more interestingly how can we discover proven methods to ease out of it, swiftly and smoothly, into inspired and creative thinking states of awareness?!

If we were to look inside their mind we would likely discover that their ‘stuckness’ was in fact a bit like a video loop. It would be as if they were repeating a short clip of a movie over and over: Hit a brick wall… back to the beginning and… repeat…

So how can you snap out of these loops?

Well there are some really good creative thinking exercises that can work lickety-split:

Switch Representational System

It’s easier than it sounds honest! Look at that person over there. She looks like she’s in a bit of stymie. “Hey how’s tricks? You look like you could do with some creative inspiration?! Ahhhh ok, Lisa, let’s see what we can do then…”

First of all notice where and how you feel that stuck state. Where on/in your body is that feeling? I bet it’s not in your little toe or is it?! Good. Now switch representational system by giving that feeling a colour.

“As you notice that feeling what colour represents that best?” – Just go with the first colour.

And if you wish you could now give that feeling a sound. ‘What sound represents this feeling?’

Great, well done!

You’ve done the main part. What you have done is to access a different part of your mind by representing the feeling in a different sensory system (Visual/Auditory.)

If you wanted, just for fun, you could even represent the feeling as a smell or taste! ‘What does this feeling smell/taste like?’

With that you have instantly accessed multiple resources from different brain centres, allowing the creative process to emerge.

What you can do next is to explore the new representation in it’s own sense system. So for example let’s say the feeling you had, looked like black foggy cloud and sounded like a dull and distant tinny sounding radio.

The next step is to PLAY with these images and sounds.

For example what happens if you ‘paint’ a silver lining around the black clouds?

If you were to imagine bringing that radio closer how would the sound quality alter? Turn the dial?

I think you get the basic gist by now, so go ahead and give it a go and get wild and wacky because humour is always good for a laugh isn’t it?! If you enjoyed this kind of ‘playing with metaphors’ method you would probably like the Merging Metaphors Technique in The Half Second Rule.

So what happens now when you think about the ‘stuck state’?

Your feelings have changed!

This process enables your mind to have more choice. Instead of getting stuck in a ‘dead end’ pathway, you have numerous ones to choose from. And more choice equals more flexibility, which equals more creativity.

Creativity is just a state of mind that can be triggered with specific mental strategies and can be enhanced by exploring other perspectives using a variety of tools. And the great thing is, the more you practice creative thinking techniques, the more creative you become!

Simply by learning to use our brains in more diverse ways we can discover the master keys to unlocking the power of our creative imagination!

There are many ‘creative thinking courses’ and ‘creative thinking training materials’ out there, so why not have a search on google and see what you can find?

How To Be Happy With Yourself: 7 Proven Methods”

Share

Have you ever had one of those days where you just wish you could discover how to be happy with yourself? Maybe you tried to shift your state of mind to something better but struggled to achieve it.

how-to-be-happy-with-yourself

flickr.com/photos/webagentur24

Sometimes you get stuck in your own ‘stinking thinking’ and forget how to find happiness in yourself.

Well, it can be really easy to change your mind, so here are seven simple ways to lift your mood that many people have found useful and some of them may surprise you!

1. Go for a walk.

Most folk know that going for a short daily walk is one of the best forms of exercise. If you can, go into a natural environment with flowers, trees and birds. What will you notice first? The different shades of greenery, the fresh smell of country air, the bird sounds, or the sunlight shining through the tree foliage.

2. Listen to some quality music.

Music creates magical effects. It can shift the listeners state within moments. Why not dig out that album you haven’t listened to in ages or why not tune your radio to something you’ve never listened to before?

3. Think of others less fortunate.

All of the great spiritual teachers of the ages have taught that one of the keys to finding happiness within yourself is to think and act kindly to others.

The fact that you are reading this article suggests that you are probably much better off than many people on this planet! What if you were to imagine being in space looking down on the amazing beautiful Earth, noticing all the oceans and lands with the clouds above…

And then thinking about the fact that there are many human beings that are starving, homeless, sick and in lots of pain.

Allow your compassion for them to grow.

4. Read something radical!

How many different types of magazines can you get these days?! Have you ever waltzed into a big newsagents and just browsed through the magazine racks? It’s incredible. Why not buy a magazine you wouldn’t normally buy. You never know you may discover something wonderful!

5. Laughing at laughter.

One of the best known, and possibly oldest methods, for how to make yourself happy is the power of laughter. Have you ever had the experience when you just laugh for no good reason? Isn’t it great! Laughter is one of the best ways to lift your spirits. Can’t think of anything funny? Try grinning at yourself insanely in the mirror and notice how difficult it becomes to control your giggle muscles!

6. Simple breathing meditation.

A great exercise that you can do anywhere is a simple breathing meditation. No need to dress in orange robes. Simply find yourself in a comfortable sitting position with your back straight. Now close your eyes and become aware of the flow of air into and out of your nostrils. That’s it! Do this for 10 to 15 minutes and you’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised how you feel afterwards.

7. Doodling just for fun!

Remember when you were young and you used to doodle with crayons for hours. Kids love drawing silly little pictures, why not adults? So get some pens, pencils, crayons or whatever you have and just draw – doodle away until your state of mind shifts. Also why not try using your other hand?

So there you go. Seven simple ways for how to become happy with yourself. Which one are you going to pick and do now: Get happy in an instant!

“The Secrets Of Learning While Sleeping”

Share

Can you learn while sleeping?

Well, you can to a certain extent. Just don’t expect to be able to pop a CD in and learn a language during sleep. You won’t wake up fluent in Japanese!

learning-while-sleeping

flickr.com/photos/dazzied

However, playing audio in the background aids you in learning while sleeping.

The way this works is that during our sleep cycles, which is about every 90 minutes, we dip into Alpha and Theta brainwave states. These levels of mind are still able to absorb information from the audio track into our memory.

Deep sleep, when our mind is in Delta brainwave mode, is, let’s say, ‘away with the fairies!’

However it is known that for the best results you need to be practiced in accessing these states of mind. If you do Self Hypnosis, Meditation or The Silva Method you will probably have some experience of remaining conscious at the Alpha and even Theta states of mind.

Being trained in that skill means your mind will be better at retaining information in memory that has been accessed at those deeper levels.

Even without those skills you can still assist your waking studies by learning while you sleep by allowing your sub-conscious mind to hear the audio teachings on a loop.

Repetition helps.

Before you go to bed set your intention to ‘learn while you sleep.’ Switch on your audio track. Turn the volume to an almost subliminal level and click on ‘repeat’ or ‘loop.’

And there you go off into la la land!

By the way I highly recommend you test out listening to uplifting or motivating speeches by the likes of Tony Robbins.

Begin to notice how your dreams start to get positvitely affected!

Very Cool ;¬)
